Module 1- is this even possible?

As I was doing the work for Module 1 doubts began to set in as to whether I could actually find the time and energy to complete this online course.  My life is a bit complex right now: starting a new master's degree in special education, having my daughter, Kaitlyn, and her dog, Keefer living with my husband and I AND having her back at Trinity which makes me her live-in support and report reader,  preparing for an international conference in the summer, and taking on two presidential roles in two different special education organizations, one national and one in Illinois.  It makes me tired just thinking about it.  But I am excited to learn this pedagogy and know it will be an essential part of several of the new masters courses in special education so that keeps me going.  I've written my face-to-face course and my condensed summer course for the new program so all that is left is this blended course.  I have it down as I would teach it if it were face-to-face but am struggling with which pieces are best delivered online.  I'm sure I will find direction as I continue through the modules and hope to gain ideas from my fellow "module makers."  Here's to all of us making it through this course with a new course developed by the end of the semester.

  1. Patti,

I'm with you on feeling overwhelmed! As I look at my March and April calendars, it makes me want to crawl in bed and re-enter the world in June!
We will be able to do this and I think it is going to be very helpful to take the time to prepare this course now so I have a good handle on it early.
I'll tell you what my husband keeps telling me: One day at a time; you can't conquer everything in one day! :)

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! One day at a time...one hour at a time...one minute at a time is the way God would want us to live our lives. So I'm viewing this is an act of obedience.

  2. There is no question that you are a busy woman. I just want to encourage you and assure you that any upfront work in an online/blended course will make the actual teaching of the course go so much better.
